Highlight suggestions according to skin tone (brown girl friendly)

Hello lovelies

Recently I’ve updated my look and think that this new change is here to stay! So, I know we’ve all been there, wanting to change the color of your hair but scared the color will look horrendous on you or will clash with your skin tone. Well before I went blonde I did some research for you guys and I’m here to help.

1. Figure out your undertone

First it is important to know the different between your skin tone and undertone. Your skin tone is the natural color of your skin tone, and think of your undertone as the exact shade. Just to help differentiate the two the simplest way I know how. Your undertone can be in one of three categories; warm, neutral and cool. I’ve added a chart below to help! The easiest way is to look at the veins on your wrist and see what color they are. Mine are a green color, therefore I’m in the neutral category. I know this is easier said than done but it’s okay if it falls in between two colors you can pick which color is more prominent. For example, my wrist veins are mainly green but seem a little blue at times. Meaning I’m mostly a neutral undertone but depending on the shade of a foundation or something I can also pull off a warm under-toned foundation depending on how orange it is.

2. Do your research

I honestly did so much googling and Pinterest-Ing on what shade of blonde I wanted. It really helps to pay attention to people with similar skin tones as you to get a feel of what color/shade you should go for.
